Tribal Bellydance worshops with Zehara of the Urban Gypsies

  Wild and energetic, celebratory and fun: The Urban Gypsies are a tribe of women that have worked hard to perfect this art.  Using World Music and simple but powerful formations their participative style parallels a village community festival.  Tribal belly dance as taught by Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalists (08), a vibrant group of dancers with a zest for life and a wish to celebrate that fact. 

SHIMMER: Bellydance Showcase 2010

  This year’s showcase featuring the ’Urban Gypsies’ of Britain’s Got Talent, unites some of the best bellydancers from South Wales and beyond, in this unique charity event for Cardiff. With nearly 30 bellydance acts performing a range of styles from sparkling cabaret to powerful tribal and vibrant gypsy, plus a middle eastern bazaar and raffle, SHIMMER aims to introduce this wonderful art form to a whole new audience-and all in the aid of charity! All ticket sales are donated to Tenovus.

 

Broadway Dance Society

  For one night only, The Gate will host a dazzling combination of classical and modern dance, from Ballet to Jazz, Tap to Street, Irish to Modern all performed by Cardiff University’s finest dancers in their annual showcase ’On Broadway’. Whatever your style, Broadway Dance society are sure to have you captivated from the first plie to the last split leap.

Scottish Dance Theatre

Scottish Dance Theatre (SDT) is Scotland’s national contemporary dance company and is part of Dundee Rep Theatre. It’s programme includes work by Artistic Director, Janet Smith, as well as by internationally celebrated and emerging choreographers.

Howell’s School Celebrates!

The Junior School, Senior School and College will join together in an evening of unforgettable music, drama and dance. Welsh Inter-High School Street Dance Championship Final

 

The United Dance Organisation are very proud to present the 2^nd Welsh inter – High School Street Dance Championships. After the extremely successful 2008 / 09 school championships, we are very excited about this year’s event.

 

The competition promises to involve as many pupils across Wales in dance, and we hope to see more schools getting involved in this fantastic competition. Over 80 teams from High Schools across Wales will perform street dance routines to try and impress the Judges to win their school the use of a brand new mini bus. Heats are to be held in Swansea, Cardiff, Carmarthen, Wrexham with the Final at St. David’s Hall.

 

As well as the school teams there will be performances from the United Dance Organisation Championship teams and a celebrity judge will be attending the final.
