Formed whilst at Leeds University by James Smith and Daniel Rice and with the line-up soon to include Chris Purcell on bass, Hadouken! quickly gained popularity on the live circuit and from humble beginnings burst into our audio lives when Mike Skinner of The Streets fame played That Boy That Girl on his guest slot for BBC
Radio 1, calling them a "great new band".
More success was soon to follow when internet phenomenon and double A-side, That Boy That Girl/Tuning In, gained rave reviews in the press; "a savage snarling work of genius" screamed NME.
Soon to be released album Music For An Accelerated Culture, is set to inject a bolt of lightning into today’s pop scene and see these boys come out on top. This is nu-rave at its finest, a very difficult to ignore blow to the norm of pop. If Mario and The Prodigy had a child it would be named Hadouken!
