Internationally exhibited painter, Helen Booth, will be exhibiting her work at the Oriel Gallery at Theatre Clwyd throughout March and April this year. Her large scale paintings earned her the prestigious John Downes Oppenheimer award for painting in December last year, and this new show will offer a comprehensive portrayal of her work.

This very significant exhibition space will house many large scale oil paintings and drawings completed over the last 12 months. Of her work Helen states “If you look at my paintings closely you will see layer upon layer of oil paint. I build up the surface and take away in the same organic way that time transforms the
landscape we live in. Seasons come and go but the fundamental and eternal cycle of nature, her inherent beauty and obvious majesty is what grips me. To work in the landscape, to try to fathom nature and to strive to understand the brevity of our own situation is both humbling and inspiring”
