The sounds of the distinctive sensual and enchanting voice of Welsh singer songwriter, Cerys Matthews will be echoing around Bryngarw Country Park in Brynmenyn, Bridgend, where she will be accompanied by South Wales Band The Storys on Saturday 5th July from 6pm – 11pm as part of Bridgend County Borough Council’s Arts & Culture Service’s summer Bryngarw Fest 08.
Since her days as lead singer of much celebrated Welsh band Catatonia, Cerys has grown artistically with each new venture developing a near-perfect British folk-pop feel to her music. Cerys is currently working on her new mini-album provisionally titled I Drive, Adref which will be released later in 2008.
Making a welcome return to the park, The Storys mix the country rock harmonies of The Eagles and Crosby Stills Nash & Young with the acoustic side of Led Zepplin and the West Coast pop of The Byrds and The Burrito Brothers. The evening will also include performances from Danny & the champions of the world, Jimi Alexander & the Satellites, Iolo and local acoustic bands who will be performing on the Black River Arts Community Stage.
All Tickets are priced at £19.50 with NO CAR PARKING AT VENUE, except for registered disabled (proof to be provided at entrance). FREE park & ride to and from park will be available to all ticket holders at the Bridgend Designer Outlet from 4pm.
