STUDIO POTTERS AND DESIGN: A CASE STUDY OF THE WHIELDON INSPIRED EARTHENWARES OF WALTER KEELER

This talk by Dr Matthew Partington outlines Walter Keeler’s life history, includes images of his work from college onwards and shows several video clips.

SHORT BIOGRAPHY ON MATTHEW PARTINGTON

Dr Matthew Partington is the University of the West of England’s Victoria and Albert Museum Senior Research Fellow in the Applied Arts. He is Director of NEVAC - The National Electronic and Video Archive of the Crafts - a resource which exists to record interviews with people associated with contemporary British crafts. The archive contains interviews with a range of craftspeople - including ceramicists, glass-makers, embroiderers, furniture makers, enamellers and metalsmiths. Matthew Chairs the Faculty of Creative Arts’ Research Ethics Committee and Exhibitions Group and is an active member of the ETC (Enamel, Textile and Ceramics) Applied Arts Research Group. He is External Examiner for the Contemporary Crafts undergraduate course at University College, Falmouth.
