Into its second year, groups of young people from all over Newport were once again given the opportunity to experience the process of filmmaking through producing and crafting their own films.

First Films wanted to find out what was important to young people in their lives and in their communities - and this definitely shows through their films.  The films have covered a wide range of subjects from teenage pregnancy to arranged marriages.

The projects have produced a varied and inspiring mix of First Films - highlighting a large amount of vibrant talent, making this occasion a time to recognise and celebrate the enthusiasm, commitment and radiance of the young people of Newport.

The First Films Award(s) Ceremony is a celebration of the talent of Newport’s budding young film makers - The results promise to be fantastic!
